The class meets for 12 weeks, only 1 hour, 1 day a week!

Event: The BIKE Tour of the Red River Gorge UCI Invitational

Part of a Summer of Cycling in Eastern Kentucky this Invitational Stage Race features Elite Juniors from around the US and the World. This epic week of racing begins on Monday July 13th in Lexington with the Team Presentations/ Race action starts Tuesday morning with a Prologue followed by an afternoon road race. Wednesday features a Time Trial which will set things up for Thursday's penultimate Battle on the Byway Road Race. The winner will be crowned on Friday as the riders return to Lexington for the final battle in the Twilight Criterium.
Teams: Elite Jr Men (ages 17 and 18) from the US, Canada, and Europe

Volunteer Challenge: The event needs volunteers to make the race safe for the riders. This year we have instituted a Volunteer Challenge - the Company or Agency that provides the largest team of Volunteers wins a trophy and bragging rights as the winner of the 2009 Volunteer Challenge.
The Stages:
Tuesday, July 14th: Prologue: 9am start in Irvine. Short time trial, 1 mile course
Tuesday, July 14th: Road Race: 11am start in Irvine end in Stanton. 61.6 miles
Wednesday, July 15th: Winchester Time Trial: 11am start in Winchester. 14.08 miles
Thursday, July 16th: The epic Battle on the Byway road race: Beattyville to Stanton. 11:30 am start. 70.4 miles
Friday, July 17th: The Lexington Twilight Criterium. 7:30pm start. Downtown Lexington
