Below are the leading causes of death in males for 2002.

7) Influenza and pneumonia 2.4

Most men are aware that healthy lifestyle choices, like eating well, not smoking, and exercising regularly, along with regular medical checkups can increase their chances of living a longer, healthier life.
Currently in America:
·29 million men have high blood pressure (hypertension)
·50 million men have high cholesterol
·8 million men have diabetes.

Here are just a few men’s health facts:
·Men, on average, die almost six years earlier than women.
·Women are 100% more likely to visit the doctor for annual examinations and preventive services than men.
·Men suffer hearing loss at 2x the rate of women.
·69% of men 20 years and over are overweight.
·By the age of 100, women outnumber men eight to one.
·Around 17% of those under the age of 65 are without health insurance coverage.
·Undiagnosed depression in men results in men being 4 times as likely to commit suicide.

The following health recommendations will help all men improve their health and prevent disease.
·Eating a healthy and varied diet that is low in fat and high in fiber.
·Taking part in a minimum of 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity.
·Drinking only in moderation.
·Quitting tobacco use and avoiding smoky places.
·Keeping handguns safely stored and locked.
